FL363 French Lavender ‘Bandera Purple’ (20 Seeds)
- A beautiful dwarf variety of French Lavender, Bandera Purple is an incredibly compact, highly aromatic and flavourful plant.
- With deep, rich purple flowers crowning dainty light green stems and leaves, these thickly growing plants look and smell as attractive as they taste.
- Used in a variety of culinary cuisines, and turned into oils for their medicinal properties, these lavenders are a must have for any garden.
HOW TO GROW:
Planting: In tropical climate the best time to start is winter, as the sun is more intense in summer and afterwards it rains, which increases the humidity level and makes it intolerable for the plant to thrive.
Your lavender seedlings will be ready to transplant once they have several leaves per plant.
Soil: Use a light soil or a vermiculite blend.
Depth: Use shallow seed trays and just barely cover the seeds with soil.
Moisture: Keep the seeds moist but not overly wet. Moderate watering.
Light: A sunny spot is a great location to keep the soil from getting too wet and to add warmth.
Row Spacing: One plant per pot.
Your first year of growth will not be impressive, but by year two, expect to have large, blooming lavender. In temperate climates start the seeds early spring, starting the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks prior to the last frost date and transplanting outdoors after the danger of last frost is gone, or transfer to a pot, at least 3 inches (7.5 cm) large.
Requires a temperature of 18-21C to germinate.
Matures 70-90 days.
